As a child I remember the mothers of the church coming together in good and bad times. I remember seeing my grandmother comfort her friends and strangers. She even complimented them on their dresses and hats. I remember my grandfather saying "you sho is sharp today" to the gentleman next to him.
As I have grown older all I can begin to think is " What has happened?" In today's world everything is a competition. It's about where we live, what kind of car we drive, and how expensive our hair is. We are missing the humanistic aspect of live. Complimenting the next woman or man does not mean that you want what they have.
We have to learn to appreciate, compliment, and celebrate with our fellow sister and brothers. The competition ends with you. Give someone a compliment today.
